Why Isn't My Business Showing in the Local Pack?
Being absent from the local pack almost always has an identifiable cause. Here is the checklist to go through, from simplest to most complex.

Your business doesn't appear in Google's local pack, while your competitors do? There is almost always an identifiable reason. Here is a checklist to go through in order.
1. Does the listing exist and is it verified?
- Check that you have claimed and verified your Google Business Profile.
- Make sure it is neither suspended nor pending verification.
- Check that it is not a duplicate of another listing for the same location.
2. Is the information accurate and complete?
- Real business name, with no added keywords.
- Correct address or a well-defined service area.
- Phone, website, hours up to date.
- A precise primary category: it is one of the elements that most influence relevance. A category that is too general or wrong makes you miss searches.
3. Your location
Distance is one of Google's three criteria. If a competitor is much closer to the user or to the center of the searched area, they will often have the advantage. Results vary from one street to the next: test from several places. A location far from the city center won't always be shown for a very central search.
4. Prominence
- Do you have enough reviews, with a decent rating and recent reviews?
- Do you reply to reviews?
- Are you cited on other sites: reliable directories, local press, partners?
- Is your website solid, with clear pages about your services?
5. Consistency of information
Name, address and phone must be identical on the listing, the site and directories. Inconsistencies weaken trust.
6. The type of search
- The local pack doesn't appear for every query, only when Google judges that the search has local intent.
- You may appear for some wordings and not others. Test the queries your customers actually use.
7. Mistakes to avoid
- Creating multiple listings or fictitious addresses: this can lead to suspension.
- Buying reviews or requesting them in exchange for benefits: against the rules.
- Changing the name or address too often, which can trigger a new verification.
How to improve your visibility
- Complete all sections of the listing and add real photos.
- Set up a regular approach to earning reviews.
- Create well-structured service pages and a contact page on your site.
- Track your results with the listing's insights and Search Console.
Local competition can be strong and results evolve gradually. If you have checked these points and nothing changes, a deeper local audit can detect less visible causes.
